Now 6 years old, Mbeli is a beautiful young female. She gives half-brother Fataki a hard time - stealing food and play-fighting. Sometimes the others let Mbeli practise her mothering skills. She carries the youngsters around and cares for them. |

Fuzu still stays close to his mum. At 1.5 years old he is just starting to venture out with the others including big brother Fataki. No doubt half-brothers Fuzu and Mahale will grow up teasing each other and playing games. |

Taronga Zoo's gorilla family is lead by Kibabu, the silverback. He can often be seen sitting towards the back of the exhibit keeping a close watch on his growing family. When you visit you'll see how much he loves his food! |

Mouila is a great mum - always cuddling her young. When Mahale was newborn, Mouila clutched him to her belly until he got strong enough to hold on for himself. Mahale will be 1 in August 2009 - he has learnt lots in his first year of life. |
